Getting Published!!!

Journal Entry: Wed Nov 18, 2009, 4:06 PM

So... It really isn't all that big of a deal since it's something done through my college. They just asked us creative writing majors to submit something we wanted to for this literary magazine to promote where we go to school... Actually I don't think I would have been published if myself and another girl were the only two... and she had already submitted a poetry piece. Basically my prof said, "I'm going to go with Hana's because Dr. T (another prof) has already decided to submit your poem." I understand they're being nice to me, but I also am under the impression that they really didn't like my piece. I've submitted Conversations at Wal*Mart and I know I got a good response here on the net (a more successful response than for anything else I've written. I just don't attract comments... well, then nor do I give either. I just don't know what to say besides, "I like it thus I fave it...")

I've taken down the piece mainly due to publishing reasons. I'm willing to send the piece by e-mail if you ask...but if I don't know you all that well, I'll be a little skeptical. However, once the magazine is completed, I will probably put it up on my personal Website: Ludicrous Smiles [link] . I just put up another journal then.

I am actually thinking of continuing it. It'll be experimental fiction. Some ideas are:
*Wal*Mart Soundtrack: I'm not sure How I would do this one, but I guess I could do the Wal*Mart soundtrack.... that'd be interesting.
*Finley's Self-Help book for Wal*Mart Employees: Finley is a character I've added. He is actually made after one of my former associates who was there when I began writing the piece. And he is freaking hilarious.
*Catalog Description: How each special, limited-time item was put in the catalog do to some story behind it...
*Ramifications through the POV of the Register: Or some other item in Wal*Mart. I haven't decided what yet...
*Instructional Manual for Wal*Mart Employees: I will totally make fun of the CBLs... they were so boring and long... albeit did give go info, I still want to make fun of it. Oh and orientation day. That was a joke.
*The Life of [Item]: Maybe a toy... I was actually thinking a TV because I could have sadness at corny shows, cartoons, men and women yelling at the football games... kinds getting in trouble and parental settings.

So what do you guys think?

Because of NaNoWriMo and NaNoEdMo (National Novel Writing/Editing Month) I won't be working on anything else other than my novel for quite some time. But I definitely want to continue Convo at WallyWorld.
